Pros As an email server package, Communigate is very, very, reliable. It supports just about every, non-proprietary, email related standard you can imagine. And a number that I didn't know existed. As long as the underlying hardware is working, the program is generally rock-solid reliable. The tech support is great. The programers are clearly very bright. Cons It supports storing email internally in a number of formats (MDIR, MBOX, etc.) but has no easy way to convert between them should you make a suboptimal choice up front, or have reason to change later. And, as others have noted, it is not cheap.

Way too far expensive as long as postfix is shipped for free with macOS X.

First, "More Information" brings up a page with the following message: "The page you are trying to locate cannot be found or is not available" Second, since CommuniGate offers solutions for carriers/ISPs, enterprise and community, I'd like to suggest putting up information regarding the latter solution, i.e. for community, offering "Your FREE 5 user license of CommuniGate Pro for Unified Communications", which can be found here: http://www.communigate.com/community/default.html

Can't say it is beautiful, but it is so far (a year of use) flawless. Easy administration, no client-side issues to date, feature-rich, though can be used is a sensible modular way

I was just reading the Exchange reviews over at Eweek, and they chose CommuniGate.I had no idea that Communigate was the cheapest on the market. I was just looking at bynari and Kerio. I found that Kerio shut down thier mailing list because of so many crashes with thier Outlook module, and generally the word was stay far away from them. Well, I ditto that you get what you pay for. We bout Communigate last week, and are very happy with it. We had no idea it had IM included and a mailing list manager too. All this talk about Communigate being way too expenses, comparred to what? Freeware?
